Cityfriend
Research. Explore. Discover.
Design of a travel research app and promotional video, developed for planning a more genuine travel experience. The app is based on the priorities of the millennial traveler, confirmed through multiple rounds of user testing, interviews, and online surveys. The concept was developed to address the pain-point of young, solo travelers who wish to learn about a new city from a more genuine and informed perspective. It connects visitors and transplants with knowledgeable, friendly locals offering group tours and events. The user interface emphasizes modern needs, quality recommendations, and is delivered in a visual format to inspire wanderlust.
The main features are all easily accessible through persistent navigation at the bottom of the screen. Other features include the curated landing page of visual content with interest grabbing material for fast readability, the “live search” function for on-the-spot interactions with locals, the booking system for planning your trip, and a “roulette” option for more spontaneous travelers.
This was a collaborative, interface design project with the following students; Jenni Renas, Nick Sturdevant, Rachel Weinman, and Eugenia Perdomo.
