The Digital Nomad
Infographic for National geographic magazine about the life of a digital nomad.
A digital nomad is someone who is able to work digitally so that they can have the freedom to travel when they like. This infographic covers the ups and downs of working remotely and gives tips on the best places to stay as a digital nomad as well as the best careers broken down financially by areas.
The images are layered to give depth to the entire spread. The background is stitched together images of a hiker on her journey, and the shapes used to put text on are mountains and landmasses that extend throughout. The bright colors are incorporated into the typography to give hierarchy to the information, mixed with the muted background colors to provide variation and increase the depth of the images.
The opening display type was customized to give a stronger sense of the vagabond lifestyle with funky patterns and colors. The display title is oversized for emphasis and to give a strong sense of importance to the title. The textures in the background images are also meant to mirror this idea of rugged travel.
